[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] As the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) continues in South Korea, the number of new confirmed cases announced as of midnight on the 11th is expected to reach 700, drawing attention.
According to Seoul city, local governments, and quarantine authorities on the 10th, a total of 507 new confirmed cases were reported nationwide from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day. This is 26 more than the 481 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.
Since the count can increase until the cutoff time at midnight, the number of new confirmed cases could reach at least the mid-to-late 600s and possibly up to the 700s.
The previous day, the number of new confirmed cases was 481 as of 6 p.m., but it increased by more than 200 within six hours before the count closed, totaling 682 new confirmed cases.
By region, the cases were as follows: Seoul 189, Gyeonggi 150, Ulsan 54, Incheon 35, Busan 25, Chungbuk 13, Gyeongnam 10, Gangwon 7, Chungnam 6, Jeju 5, Daejeon 3, and Jeonbuk, Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Gwangju, and Jeonnam each with 2 cases.
