One Additional Death in Gyeongnam, 11 New Cases in a Day... Total Confirmed Cases Reach 790 (Comprehensive) Shin Jong-woo, Director of Welfare and Health Bureau, Gyeongnam Province.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] In Gyeongnam, 11 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were reported in a single day.


On the afternoon of the 10th, Gyeongnam Province announced in a briefing that 11 confirmed cases occurred: 7 in Changwon, 2 in Jinju, 1 in Geoje, and 1 in Yangsan.


In Changwon, a teenage high school student who had contact with a confirmed case of unknown infection route tested positive and was classified as case number 784. Gyeongnam 786 is a man in his 30s living in Jinhae-gu who had contact with case 717.


Regarding the Masan Arari Danran Bar, a man in his 40s tested positive and was classified as case number 793. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the Arari Danran Bar to 48.


In relation to the Changwon music academy, a woman in her 50s who had contact with case 720 tested positive and was classified as case number 792. The total number of confirmed cases related to the music academy has increased to 11. Three people, including a woman in her 50s and a man and woman in their 30s from Changwon who are family members of Gyeongnam case 779, were infected and classified as cases 789 to 791.


In Jinju, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s tested positive and were classified as cases 783 and 787. Their infection routes are under investigation.


In Geoje, one additional confirmed case related to the shipyard was reported. A woman in her 50s of Chinese nationality tested positive and was classified as case 785. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the shipyard to 19.


In Yangsan, a toddler who had contact with a confirmed case family member tested positive and was classified as case 788.


One additional death was also reported. On the 4th, a woman in her 90s (case 683) who had been receiving treatment related to the Gimhae Elderly Daycare Center passed away.


The province explained that, in accordance with the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act, with the consent of the bereaved family, cremation was performed first before holding the funeral.


Accordingly, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province increased to 790 (219 hospitalized, 569 discharged, 2 deceased).


Shin Jong-woo, Director of the Welfare and Health Bureau of the province, said, “The 11 additional confirmed cases today were tested after 9 days,” and urged, “Since secondary and tertiary infections are a concern, if symptoms appear, please get tested quickly and promptly above all else.”
