Chairman Kim Jeong-tae: "We Will Continue Efforts to Grow Together Even in Times of Change"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Kim Jung-tae, Chairman of Hana Financial Group, has rolled up his sleeves to support low-income and marginalized groups.
Hana Financial Group announced on the 10th that it donated 10 billion won as year-end neighbor aid funds to the Community Chest of Korea to fulfill its social responsibility and practice happy finance through sharing.
On the same day, Chairman Kim delivered 10 billion won in donations to support people with disabilities, low-income marginalized groups, and social welfare facilities at the 'Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign' held at the annex of the Community Chest of Korea located on Sejong-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul.
At the donation ceremony, Chairman Kim stated, “We are passing through a turning point of significant social change accompanied by economic shocks due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” and added, “Nevertheless, we must continue efforts to grow together with all stakeholders.” He further said, “Based on the group’s mission of ‘growing together and sharing happiness through finance,’ Hana Financial Group will do its best to revitalize the social economy and support the joy of all, including low-income marginalized groups, people with disabilities, and multicultural families.”
In a situation where the need for help has increased due to COVID-19 while corporate participation in donations has decreased, the 10 billion won neighbor aid fund prepared by 14 affiliates of Hana Financial Group is expected to serve as a catalyst to connect hope for marginalized neighbors in line with the Community Chest of Korea’s campaign slogan, ‘Continue hope through sharing,’ the company explained.
