2020 Taiwan International Invention Innovation Poster Contest: 2 Gold Awards, 1 Silver Award, and More
Students of Busan Institute of Science and Technology swept five awards, including two gold medals, at the Taiwan International Invention Innovation Poster Competition.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Students from Busan University of Science and Technology swept various awards at the 'International Invention' event held in Taiwan.
Busan University of Science and Technology (President Kang Ki-seong) announced on the 7th that it won a total of five awards, including two gold prizes, at the recent '2020 Taiwan International Invention Innovation Poster Competition.'
Hosted and organized by the Chinese Inventors and Innovators Society (CIIS) of Taiwan, this competition was held to raise awareness of the importance of domestic and international intellectual property rights and to contribute to the establishment of a global invention culture in response to internationalization and the global era.
The competition promotes everyday inventions and contributes to building the foundation of a knowledge-based industrial society by enhancing the discovery of outstanding inventors and human resources and information exchange through mutual interaction among inventors worldwide.
Busan University of Science and Technology's startup club 'Medifil,' composed of students from the Department of Health Care Administration and the Department of Aviation Electronics and Communications (advisors Professors Jeong Young-pil, Hong Yong-in, and Kim Taek-gi), submitted the 'CID-based Hospital Visitor Registration Kiosk,' and the startup club 'NothingNew' from the Department of Electrical Engineering (advisor Professor Kim Cheol-ho) submitted the 'Passive Pitch Control Small Wind Turbine,' both of which won gold prizes. Both works were also honored with special awards.
The startup club 'Clean Bottom' from the Department of Drone Spatial Information (advisor Professor Joo In-gon) submitted the 'Shoe Care System,' which won a silver prize.
President Kang Ki-seong said, "With youth unemployment emerging as a social issue, Busan University of Science and Technology has developed and operates its own MBA course covering the entire startup process, including entrepreneurship, presentations, and finance, to awaken students' entrepreneurial spirit and expand the startup atmosphere."
President Kang added, "We will provide full support so that startup clubs can grow into startup companies that generate actual employment and sales."
