LG Electronics Launches 'Whisen Ceiling Fan', a Ceiling-Mounted Fan for Home Use

LG Electronics Launches 'Whisen Ceiling Fan', a Ceiling-Mounted Fan for Home Use LG Electronics launched the premium ceiling fan 'LG Whisen Ceiling Fan' on the 7th.

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] LG Electronics launched a new premium ceiling fan, the ‘LG Whisen Ceiling Fan,’ on the 7th, which can be installed in single-story houses, apartments, and more.

While previous models could only be installed in spaces with ceiling heights exceeding 2.6m, such as duplex houses and stores, the new model (model number: FC480SWSC) can be installed even if the ceiling height is as low as 2.3m. LG Electronics explained that this was designed considering that most apartment ceilings in Korea are around 2.3m. To achieve this, LG Electronics narrowed the gap between the ceiling and the ceiling fan and designed it to facilitate smooth air circulation tailored to living spaces.

This product not only keeps indoor air comfortable but also enhances heating and cooling performance while reducing energy consumption. The German certification body TUV Rheinland certified that when using the heating or cooling device together with the LG Whisen Ceiling Fan, the set temperature is reached 25% and 19% faster respectively compared to not using the ceiling fan. Additionally, when operating the heating or cooling device with the ceiling fan on for two hours, power consumption is reduced by 13% and 8% respectively.

Moreover, this product circulates air up and down during spring and autumn to maintain comfort, and when used with an air conditioner in summer, the breeze feels cool and natural. In winter heating, it circulates warm air downward to keep the indoor space warm.

LG Electronics applied its unique technologies, Dual Wing and the humpback whale-inspired protrusion design, to the ceiling fan. The Dual Wing increases airflow at the center of the blades to aid air circulation, and the protrusion design reduces noise generated by the rotating fan blades.

The product’s minimum noise level is about 25dB, similar to a whisper. According to measurements by India’s certification body National Test House, the maximum airflow of this product is 200 CMM (Cubic Meter per Minute). One CMM refers to the volume of air that can fill a space measuring 1 meter in width, length, and height in one minute.

This product is equipped with an inverter motor, enhancing durability. After conducting internal tests with the wind strength set to the maximum level 4, the product can operate continuously for up to 77,000 hours.

Ease of use is also a strong point. With built-in wireless internet functionality, customers can remotely control the fan using the LG ThinQ app on their smartphones or tablets without a remote control. It also integrates with AI platforms such as Google Assistant.

LG Electronics offers customers who purchase the new product a pre-inspection service where installation experts propose the optimal installation method considering the structure and environment of the customer’s home and install the product. Additionally, if there is any issue with the product, customers can receive nationwide LG Electronics after-sales service. The new product is available in white, and the price is 510,000 KRW including installation fees based on the shipment price.

Lee Jae-sung, Vice President and Head of the Air Solution Business Division at the H&A Business Headquarters, emphasized, “Reflecting customers’ needs for ceiling fans used at home, we will actively target the domestic premium market with a ceiling fan that provides comfort all year round based on LG’s differentiated technology and ease of use.”
