[Asia Economy Reporter Hana Na] American electric vehicle company Tesla revealed that about 60% of its executives at the director level and above are white, and announced plans to increase the proportion of Black executives going forward.


On the 5th (local time), according to foreign media, Tesla published its 'Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion' report on the company blog for the first time.


According to the report, among Tesla's executives at the director level and above, whites accounted for the largest share at 59%, followed by Asians at 25%. In contrast, the proportion of Black and Hispanic executives was only 4% each. Based on regular employees, the order was white (34%), Hispanic (22%), Asian (21%), and Black (10%).


Additionally, male executives at the director level and above made up 87% of the total, while female executives accounted for 13%. Male regular employees were 79% of the total, and females were 21%.


Through the report, Tesla acknowledged that the proportion of Black talent in the company is not high, stating, "We will focus on increasing Black representation in hiring and promotions next year, especially concentrating on raising the proportion of Black executives."


It added, "Increasing female executives is also a top priority," and said, "Historically, women have held a small share in the technology and automotive industries, but we are actively taking measures to build an inclusive culture that supports the advancement of female employees."
