Embarrassed Twice by 'Ppeung' at Presidential Election Rejection Hearing
Excited by Democratic Party's Attack... "Trump Tried to Get Pardon for Ukraine Scandal Before Leaving Office"
[Asia Economy International Desk Reporter] Rudy Giuliani, former New York mayor and attorney representing U.S. President Donald Trump's election contest lawsuits, became the subject of ridicule due to a 'fart' incident.
According to the New York Daily News and Business Insider on the 5th (local time), Giuliani committed the faux pas of farting twice during a 'election contest' hearing held by the Michigan House of Representatives on the 2nd, and the sounds were captured on video at the scene.
Giuliani's fart incident occurred during a Q&A session with Michigan State Representative Darrin Camilleri, a Democrat.
At the hearing, Giuliani continued to claim that the Michigan election results were fraudulent.
In response, Camilleri cited a recent New York Times (NYT) report and attacked Giuliani, who is under investigation related to the Ukraine scandal, saying he took the lead in contesting the election results to secure a pardon before Trump's departure from office.
Agitated, Giuliani protested to the hearing chairperson that Camilleri was slandering him, and at that moment, a 'pffft' sound came through the microphone. Then Camilleri referenced Attorney General William Barr's recent statement that no significant fraud was found that could change the election results, pressing Giuliani again, at which point Giuliani's fart sound echoed through the hearing room once more.
The fart sounds were quite loud, causing Jenna Ellis, the attorney sitting next to Giuliani, to flinch and glance sideways at him. The video posted on Twitter garnered 3.6 million views and became a hot topic.
Camilleri posted on Twitter acknowledging that Giuliani did commit a faux pas at the hearing, saying, "The Michigan GOP allowed Giuliani's testimony at the hearing. This whole thing is surreal."
Previously, Giuliani had been embarrassed several times by ridiculous scenes during the election contest lawsuits.
On the 19th of last month, Giuliani led the Trump campaign legal team at a press conference, but what drew more attention than the content was the black dye mixed sweat running down Giuliani's bald head.
Also, on the 7th of last month, President Trump announced that Giuliani would hold a press conference alleging election fraud at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia, but Giuliani held the conference in an open lot in front of a landscaping company named 'Four Seasons' next to an adult store, drawing ridicule from the U.S. media.
