[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] A customer who threw food and caused a disturbance after getting angry at an employee's remark about dog hair flying around was sentenced to a suspended prison term.

On the 5th, Judge Kim Kyung-rok of the Ulsan District Court Criminal Division 10 announced that A (61), who was tried on charges of obstruction of business, was sentenced to 4 months in prison with a 2-year suspension.

In July of this year, A entered a snack bar in Nam-gu, Ulsan, accompanied by a pet dog, and heard from employee B that "dog hair is flying around." Enraged, A threw fish cake skewers and cursed, causing a disturbance for about 40 minutes.

The police arrived, arrested A on the spot, and after investigation, released him. A then returned to the restaurant demanding a settlement.

The restaurant demanded 58,000 won for damaged food and laundry costs, and A again threw packaged food and dishes, disrupting business for about 20 minutes.

The court stated, "Considering that the defendant obstructed the restaurant's business simply because he was angry, committed retaliatory acts by seeking out the victim to interfere with business, and has a prior record of similar offenses, the nature of the crime is not good," but also noted, "the victim reached a settlement and does not wish for punishment of the defendant."
