[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] In the United States, the daily number of new COVID-19 cases has surpassed 210,000, marking the highest level since the pandemic began. The situation is worsening, with deaths approaching 2,900.
According to statistics from Johns Hopkins University on the 3rd (local time), the number of new COVID-19 cases in the U.S. was recorded at 217,664, exceeding the previous record of 205,557 on the 27th of last month. The daily death toll also rose to 2,879, surpassing the previous high of 2,804 the day before.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the U.S. has exceeded 14 million. On this day, Johns Hopkins University reported the total confirmed cases in the U.S. as approximately 14.19 million and the death toll as about 276,000.
