Pilot Opening from the 7th
Stabilization Period to Follow
Official Launch Scheduled for February Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] During the remote learning period, real-time interactive classes will also be possible through the public learning management systems 'e-Hakseupteo' and 'EBS Online Class.'
The Ministry of Education, Korea Education and Research Information Service, and Korea Educational Broadcasting System announced on the 6th that they will pilot this system starting from the 7th.
Previously, to conduct morning or closing meetings or video classes online, it was inconvenient to use separate private programs. By utilizing this system, attendance and learning time can be managed through e-Hakseupteo or EBS Online Class.
The feature is developed to accommodate up to 200,000 simultaneous users. Backup servers for about 50,000 users per system will be prepared to establish a stable service environment.
This system also includes functions to increase student engagement in real-time, such as 'sending attention alert windows' and 'confirming class participation.' Document sharing and screen annotation features will also be added.
The pilot launch will begin with elementary schools on the 7th and will be implemented step-by-step at weekly intervals. After the pilot launch, all schools will be able to use the video class function. The Ministry of Education is aiming for the end of February next year as the target date.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye said, "We will continue to improve functions so that teachers and students can feel convenience and communicate smoothly."
