Naver Ranks 33rd Among Fortune's Top 50 Promising Companies



[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Naver has been named one of the 50 Most Promising Future Companies selected by Fortune.


On the 4th, Naver announced that it ranked 33rd in The Future 50, a list of promising future companies selected by the global economic media Fortune. It received a higher evaluation than global IT companies such as PayPal (34th), Amazon (37th), and Alibaba (40th). Among domestic companies, Celltrion also made the list at 49th place.


Fortune stated, "Naver operates Korea's largest search engine and has recently focused on rapidly growing sectors such as fintech, cloud, and digital comics (webtoons), achieving quarterly sales growth of over 24%."


By category, Naver ranked third in the communication services sector, following Spotify (10th) and Twitter (23rd).


Fortune, together with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), selects and announces 50 promising companies that will lead future markets. The selection targets companies with a market capitalization of over $2 billion or sales exceeding $1 billion as of the previous year, evaluating dozens of indicators. The evaluation focuses on growth potential based on financial performance (30%) and corporate capabilities (70%).
