Imsil-gun, Green Light for Imsil Cheese History and Culture Center Construction Project

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 4th that an additional 1 billion KRW in national budget for 2021 has been secured for the construction of the Imsil Cheese History and Culture Center.

This additional budget was increased at the National Assembly level for the budget not reflected in the government's proposal.

The Imsil Cheese History and Culture Center construction project is a project to create a historical, cultural, and experiential space within the Imsil Cheese Theme Park to honor the late Father Jijeonghwan and to showcase the footsteps and growth process of Imsil Cheese at a glance.

With a total project cost of 8 billion KRW (3 billion KRW from the national government) and a total floor area of 1,416㎡, it will be built as a semi-underground structure equipped with the Father Jijeonghwan History Hall, exhibition rooms, experience rooms, and community rooms.

With this additional national budget secured, the construction project of the Imsil Cheese History and Culture Center is seen as a green light for the development of Imsil-gun's cheese industry and the establishment of tourism infrastructure.

The county expects that once the Cheese History and Culture Center is built, the experiential tourism industry will further develop through synergy linked with the Imsil Cheese Theme Park and the ImsilN Cheese Festival.

Sim Min, the mayor of Imsil-gun, said, "With the additional national budget secured this time, the construction of the Cheese History and Culture Center has gained momentum," and added, "Once the cultural center is established, Imsil's status as the mecca of Korean cheese and the brand awareness of 'ImsilN Cheese' will be further enhanced."
