[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea Gas Corporation announced on the 4th that it received the Prime Minister's Commendation (Silver Prize) at the 2020 Personnel Innovation Best Practices Competition held at the Government Sejong Convention Center on the 3rd.
Organized by the Ministry of Personnel Management, the Personnel Innovation Best Practices Competition began in 2006 and marked its 15th event this year. The event aims to discover innovative best practices, disseminate government personnel innovation achievements and efforts, and promote the transformed public service to the public.
At this event, presentations and evaluations were conducted for 12 final selected best practices out of 159 submissions from 77 institutions nationwide, including central government ministries, constitutional institutions, education offices, and public institutions.
KOGAS presented on the theme of "Development of Value Chain Decision-Making Experience Gamification Training" and was honored with an award in the human resource development category.
Centered on the newly established "Young Professional (YP) Development Team" last year, KOGAS developed a specialized training program for new employees in the form of gamification by incorporating game elements. This provided opportunities to increase new employees' sense of belonging and enhance their understanding of the company's business.
Unlike traditional rote learning, the interactive training elicited positive responses from participants, and by having all trainees participate in discussions, it was recognized for fostering communication and collaboration skills.
A KOGAS official stated, "The Young Professional (YP) Development Team, which led the development of this training, is an innovative organization composed of employees with less than four years of service, aiming to establish an education system for nurturing young talent. It is a good example demonstrating the potential of highly skilled young 'maknae-type' employees."
