At the meeting, representatives from 12 local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) selected for their high growth potential and excellent technological capabilities despite the adverse effects of COVID-19 attended.
Mayor Yoo Jin-seop congratulated the entrepreneurs selected as the ‘2020 Promising SMEs’ and listened to the difficulties and suggestions they experienced on the front lines of the industrial field.
Additionally, they communicated about business trends and response measures amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and took time to explore future prospects and ways to revitalize the local economy.
Mayor Yoo said, “It is regrettable that many companies are facing difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation,” and added, “I sincerely thank and am proud of the company representatives who have achieved good results despite these hardships.”
At the meeting, the entrepreneurs expressed their difficulties both internally and externally, such as worsening business management due to COVID-19, and appealed for support regarding rising logistics costs, difficulties in recruiting talented personnel, and the need for management funds.
Mayor Yoo promised active support to strengthen communication between the administration and businesses so that local companies can grow into leading domestic and international enterprises.
