Public Interest and Market-Type Applications Accepted Until the 11th, Social Service-Type Applications Accepted from the 28th

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 4th that it will publicly recruit participants to join the ‘2021 Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project’ to ensure a vibrant old age for seniors and provide opportunities to work in various fields.

The number of recruits for next year’s public sector job projects includes 5,020 in the public interest activity field, 285 in the market-type field, and 280 in the social service-type field.

Applications for the public interest activity and market-type fields will be accepted until the 11th, while applications for the social service-type field will be accepted from the 28th of this month until January 15 of next year.

Eligibility for the public interest activity field requires seniors aged 65 or older residing in Nam-gu according to the resident registration and currently receiving the basic pension. The work mainly involves volunteer activities and managing public facilities such as local children’s centers, daycare centers, and school surroundings.

For the market-type field, which operates in the form of dispatched personnel, participants must be healthy seniors aged 60 or older residing in Nam-gu according to the resident registration. They will participate in various project groups operated by social welfare facilities to manufacture and sell industrial products or manage stores.

For the social service-type field, seniors aged 65 or older residing in Nam-gu according to the resident registration are eligible to apply. In some projects, seniors aged 60 or older may also participate.

They will perform tasks such as counseling and consulting for senior consumer prevention, childcare, and providing care services related to the elderly.

Applications can be submitted online via Bokjiro or the Senior Job Here website, or by visiting the local administrative welfare center in the applicant’s residential area (for the public interest activity field) and the respective project executing institutions (for the social service-type and market-type fields).

The results of the participant selection will be individually notified on the 31st.
