[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Hanwha Techwin announced on the 4th that it has installed closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems at major overseas facilities such as Wilson Bank in the United States and Heysham Nuclear Power Plant in the United Kingdom.

In critical security facilities such as banks and power plants, cybersecurity features have emerged as essential elements in addition to basic CCTV performance. Hanwha Techwin possesses its own developed video processing semiconductor.

Besides the recently installed Wilson Bank and Heysham Nuclear Power Plant, Hanwha Techwin has installed and operates more than 350,000 CCTVs at major security facilities including banks and power plants across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

In particular, the company operates a dedicated cybersecurity team called ‘S-CERT’ and continuously upgrades software to focus on securely protecting its CCTV systems.

Earlier, Hanwha Techwin’s latest camera model, ‘WiseNet7,’ was recognized for these efforts and obtained the international cybersecurity safety certification ‘UL CAP’ in September.

A Hanwha Techwin official said, "Recently, inquiries about the safety of domestically produced CCTVs surged due to malicious code issues. Cybersecurity is a responsibility that any video security company must diligently uphold. We are always striving to provide products and solutions that customers can use safely through comprehensive policies and the latest technologies."
