Jungnang-gu, Recruiting 1,946 Senior Job Positions in 2021

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is accepting applications for 1,860 seniors to participate in the 2021 Senior Employment Project until the 11th.

The Senior Employment Project is an annual initiative to support senior social activities by providing various jobs to prevent income gaps for low-income seniors with working ability and to address welfare blind spots.

In particular, the 2021 employment project will recruit a total of 1,946 people across 29 projects, increasing the number of recruits by 15% (242 people) compared to this year.

The project period is 11 months, from February to December 2021, and participants who work more than 30 hours per month will receive a 270,000 KRW activity allowance.

Applicants must be basic pension recipients aged 65 or older residing in Jungnang-gu; for some projects, seniors aged 60 or older are also eligible.

Seniors wishing to participate should bring their ID and resident registration certificate to the welfare center or local community service center conducting the project, fill out the participation application form and consent form for personal information provision, and submit them.

Participants will be announced on December 28, and the results will be individually notified by phone and posted on the bulletin boards of each community service center and the respective welfare centers.

For inquiries, contact the Senior Welfare Division of Jungnang-gu Office for detailed explanations and guidance.

The projects being recruited this time include a total of 25 projects such as cleaning management staff, NoNoCare (healthy seniors caring for other seniors in need), senior center lunch helpers, and elementary school meal helpers.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “I hope this Senior Employment Project will help improve seniors’ social relationships and support a healthy and active old age,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to discover projects that can expand opportunities for seniors’ social participation.”

The district plans to accept an additional 86 applicants in December for four projects, including market-type and social service-type projects such as the Silver Cafe and Senior Playground projects.
