Lee Chan-won Suspends Activities After Testing Positive for COVID-19... Emergency Alert for Lim Young-woong, Youngtak, and Jang Min-ho

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Singer Lee Chan-won has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). As Lee Chan-won participated in the recording of 'Bongsunga Academy' on the 1st, co-stars Lim Young-woong, Young Tak, Jang Min-ho, and all staff members have entered self-quarantine.

On the 3rd, New Era Project, which manages Lee Chan-won, stated, "Lee Chan-won tested positive for COVID-19 this morning," adding, "He immediately entered self-quarantine and is taking necessary measures according to the guidelines of the health authorities."

New Era also said, "Those related to Lee Chan-won are also undergoing COVID-19 testing, with some having already completed testing and currently in self-quarantine," and added, "All activities have been halted immediately, and we will fulfill our social responsibility by following the health authorities' guidelines until a sufficiently safe situation is secured."

They further expressed, "As the person in charge of management, I apologize for the shortcomings in artist management."

Lee Chan-won is currently appearing on TV Chosun's 'Bongsunga Academy' and 'Love Call Center.'

TV Chosun also announced that since Lee Chan-won participated in the recording of 'Bongsunga Academy' on the 1st, "all cast members and staff who participated in the recording that day have undergone COVID-19 testing and entered self-quarantine." Accordingly, Lim Young-woong, Young Tak, and Jang Min-ho are also in self-quarantine.

TV Chosun stated, "We will upgrade our internal quarantine system to the highest level and implement strong preemptive measures, including temporarily closing the Sangam-dong headquarters."

However, there is no change in the scheduling of 'Miss Trot 2,' which will premiere on the 17th. Although six members from 'Mr. Trot,' including Lee Chan-won, will appear on 'Miss Trot 2,' all recordings for the first broadcast have already been completed.

Meanwhile, fans who heard the news of Lee Chan-won's COVID-19 diagnosis responded with comments such as, "I was comforted during the difficult times of COVID thanks to him, but now he has caught it," "He has been comforting those suffering from COVID, so this is very unfortunate," and "Wishing him a speedy recovery."
