[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seul-gi] The suspect who threw stones at comedian Jang Dong-min's (41) house and vehicle has been arrested by the police.
The Wonju Police Station in Gangwon announced on the 3rd that they have detained a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of special property damage.
Mr. A is accused of throwing stones dozens of times at the exterior walls, windows, and passenger car of Jang Dong-min's residence in Wonju from August 14 to September 17, causing damage.
The police reportedly identified the direction and distance from which the stones were thrown through neighborhood inquiries and analysis of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.
After a three-month investigation, including sending the stones suspected to have been used in the crime to the National Forensic Service for analysis, Mr. A was apprehended on the 30th of last month.
According to the investigation, Mr. A committed the crimes knowing that there was no CCTV installed at the house, and even after CCTV was installed, he continued the offenses by hiding in blind spots.
In response, Jang Dong-min announced the damage through YouTube and expressed his intention not to show leniency.
The police are currently investigating Mr. A's motive for the crimes.
