[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seul-gi] In an apartment complex in Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do, a controversy arose when residents allegedly banned a delivery couple from using the elevator, but it was revealed to be a lie by the delivery workers.

According to the apartment management office on the 3rd, the delivery couple recently admitted their mistake and published an apology letter in a local Yeonggwang newspaper asking for forgiveness from the residents.

In the apology letter, the couple stated, "We sincerely apologize for posting false information inside the apartment and causing deep emotional distress to the residents through false reports."

Earlier, on the 18th of last month, the couple claimed that the residents of the apartment banned them from using the elevator because they were holding it for too long during deliveries.

The husband, Mr. A, said, "I have a disability in one leg and work together with my wife delivering packages. We load the items onto the elevator all at once and start from the top floor, the 17th floor, delivering to each floor and unit as we go down to the 1st floor."

He continued, "However, when my wife was holding the elevator, I was delivering packages along the hallway to each unit, and residents complained that 'the elevator was being held for too long' and prohibited us from using the elevator."

He added, "Some residents asked us to stop using the elevator during deliveries and to use the stairs even for heavy packages. Despite my leg disability, I have been running down from the 17th floor to deliver, but we were still not allowed to use the elevator."
