Hanshin Engineering Selected as Construction Company for Gangneung Gyodong Reconstruction

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Hanshin Engineering & Construction has won the contract for the reconstruction project of an old apartment complex in downtown Gangneung, Gangwon Province.

Hanshin Engineering & Construction announced on the 3rd that it was selected as the construction company at the general meeting of the 'Gangneung MaehwaㆍIhwa Bondong Apartment Small-scale Reconstruction Project' association held recently in the area of 312-1, Gyodong, Gangneung City.

This project involves demolishing the existing old apartments in Gangneung City and building a total of 223 new apartment units, with a total contract amount of approximately 37.1 billion KRW. A Hanshin Engineering & Construction official stated, "We will leverage our extensive experience from supplying about 284,000 households nationwide to make this a representative complex of Gangneung." The selection of the construction company was made seven months after the association was approved in March this year.

The project site is located south of Gangneung Sports Complex. New apartment complexes such as Lotte Castle and e-Pyeonhansesang are nearby. Gangneung Station is within close proximity, making it convenient to travel to Seoul and other metropolitan areas using KTX and other transportation. Yulgok Middle School, Myeongryun High School, and Gangil Girls' High School are also nearby.

Meanwhile, Hanshin Engineering & Construction plans to supply 418 units of 'Hanshin The Hue' in Seonhwa-dong, Daejeon City, within this month. Next year, they will actively continue housing supply projects in Yuldong, Ulsan, and Seonbu-dong, Ansan City, Gyeonggi Province.
