[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun held the 27th Thursday Dialogue on the afternoon of the 3rd at the Prime Minister's Official Residence in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, together with experts in advanced regenerative medicine, the Prime Minister's Office announced.

This Thursday Dialogue was a follow-up to the one held just before the enforcement of the Advanced Regenerative Bio Act on July 12, discussing measures to ensure that patients can safely receive advanced regenerative medical treatment at the appropriate time.

Professor Park Sora of Inha University College of Medicine, who gave the presentation, proposed specific measures including ▲expanding clinical research on rare and intractable diseases and establishing a public fund to support treatment costs for low-income groups ▲allowing limited procedures for technologies proven to be safe ▲linking clinical research with the drug development process.

Prime Minister Chung instructed the Ministry of Health and Welfare to actively consider allowing limited medical procedures for technologies with low risk and confirmed safety based on clinical research results.
