[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] In Gyeongsangbuk-do, including examinees and their families in the Gimcheon area, 11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were added.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 3rd, as of midnight, the number of confirmed cases in the region increased by 10 community infections (5 in Pohang, 3 in Gimcheon, 1 in Chilgok, 1 in Gyeongju) and 1 imported case (Pohang), totaling 1,731 cases.
A man in his 40s, Mr. A, living in Gimcheon, was confirmed positive after visiting a screening clinic due to COVID-19 symptoms, and his examinee child also tested positive. This examinee will take the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) at Pohang Medical Center, where he was transferred on the night of the 2nd.
Another resident in his 60s in Gimcheon also showed COVID-19 symptoms and tested positive after examination.
In Pohang, a family of four including Mr. B in his 40s and one of Mr. B’s coworkers were confirmed positive, totaling five people. The children are kindergarten and elementary school students.
In Chilgok County, a person in their 20s who visited a coin karaoke in Jung-gu, Daegu on the 2nd tested positive. A person in their 60s in Gyeongju also tested positive after showing symptoms and undergoing testing.
As for the imported case, a Korean resident in Pohang was confirmed positive after being tested following entry from Ukraine.
