'Social Distancing, Embracing Hearts'... Songpa-gu Chooses Slogan to Deliver Hope to Residents

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is encouraging residents who have faced difficulties due to COVID-19 and welcoming a hopeful new year by holding a contest for hopeful message slogans to be displayed throughout the district.

The district held the "You Did Well 2020, Welcome 2021 Pat Pat Slogan" contest to deliver positive energy to residents exhausted by the daily challenges of COVID-19.

A total of 149 slogans were submitted during the contest held from November 4 to 10, and after a separate screening process, the district selected 10 slogans.

The selected slogans include ▲ Society keeps social distancing, hearts embrace ▲ You are perfectly fine just as you are ▲ Please empathize with each other's pain. We become comfort, and we become strength ▲ The one thing COVID-19 could not change is the preciousness of your existence ▲ Valuable 2020, Opening 2021 Together in Songpa, among others.

The district expects that most of the slogans, which contain wishes to overcome difficult times together and welcome a bright new year, will provide gentle comfort not only to medical staff but also to residents facing hardships in various sectors of society.

The selected slogans will be displayed on banners at popular spots frequently visited by residents, such as Songpa Dullegil Seongnaecheon and Seokchon Lake, to convey hope to residents and visitors to Songpa.

In addition to the selected works, 100 participants in the contest were given small prizes.

Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "I hope the warm feelings contained in the slogans will be conveyed so that all Songpa residents can wisely overcome this crisis," and added, "We will continue to do our best to support various areas such as local quarantine, mental healing, and economic revitalization so that daily life can recover quickly."
