Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation Conducts Sharing Event to Overcome COVID-19

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Kim Kyung-ho) recently visited sister farming and fishing villages facing difficulties in sales and market access as part of the 1 Company 1 Rural Village mutual exchange initiative to overcome COVID-19. They purchased agricultural and marine products (kimchi for kimjang, dried anchovies, seasoned laver, etc.) produced by the village elders and supported 19 locations including vulnerable groups and welfare facilities in Songpa-gu.

The corporation, practicing social responsibility and sharing management through fresh food sharing activities, continuously promotes coexistence between urban and rural areas and social activities by providing fresh food to vulnerable groups in the community through the ethical purchase of agricultural and marine products from sister villages whose sales channels were blocked due to COVID-19.

Also, this event was held with a minimal number of attendees while strictly adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines. They directly delivered COVID-19 prevention supplies and consolation gifts to the sister villages, ‘Gongju Mureusil Village’ and ‘Taean Gojangdong Fishing Cooperative,’ supporting the health and happiness of the village elders.

Kim Jong-geun, Head of Management at Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation, stated, “Through this community sharing activity, the corporation will join in creating a healthy community, and we hope everyone will come together to wisely overcome COVID-19 during these difficult times.”
