[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] Lee Wankyu, the attorney representing Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, stated, "We plan to submit an application to the Ministry of Justice to reschedule the disciplinary committee date."
In a statement sent to reporters on the 2nd, Attorney Lee said, "The Ministry of Justice violated the Criminal Procedure Act in the process of changing the disciplinary committee date from the 2nd to the 4th to ensure Prosecutor General Yoon's right to defense." He added that the application would be submitted the following morning.
Attorney Lee emphasized that since he received the notice of the disciplinary committee date change from the Ministry of Justice that day, the disciplinary committee can only be held after the grace period of 3 to 7 days, meaning after the 8th. He added that the same legal provisions apply to the disciplinary committee as to trials.
However, Attorney Lee explained, "We are applying to reschedule the review date," and "the application will not specify the exact new date."
