[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 2nd that it donated 1,000 boxes of "Changwon Love Kimchi" (worth 50 million KRW) at Changwon Wangseong Church for the underprivileged.

Since 2016, Changwon Wangseong Church has donated boxes of daily necessities made directly by its congregation, but this year, due to the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), it plans to support kimchi for 1,000 households including single-parent families, the elderly, disabled, and neighbors in need.

Yang Chungman, the senior pastor of Changwon Wangseong Church, said, "Starting in November, we are supporting kimchi with donations voluntarily given by the congregation to practice kimchi sharing," adding, "We hope this will help each household have a warm winter."

Heo Seongmu, mayor of Changwon City, said, "We appreciate the sharing activities of Changwon Wangseong Church that have continued for five years," and added, "Furthermore, we ask religious facilities to exemplarily follow quarantine rules in accordance with the implementation of social distancing level 2."
