[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Economic and Environmental Committee of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council conducted a preliminary review of the committee's jurisdictional budget proposal for the next year over three days starting November 30.
This preliminary budget review broke away from the traditional review method and was conducted in a new way.
Until now, budget cuts were made unilaterally without giving the executive branch an opportunity to explain, but this was improved to a more transparent review process.
During the adjustment meeting, members were given the chance to explain the pre-coordinated budget adjustment plan to the heads of departments and agencies before finalizing the adjustments. The entire process was made public and minutes were recorded.
Chairman Park Junho said, "Next year's budget proposal was thoroughly reviewed focusing on future Gyeongnam food industry, Green New Deal, and fine dust response to revitalize the people's economy," adding, "We will strive further to strengthen the accountability and transparency of the council's core function of budget decision-making."
