Jung Hyun-bok, Mayor of Gwangyang, Urges Thorough Completion of Current Tasks This Year


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City held an expanded executive meeting in the city hall situation room the day before, minimizing the number of attendees including the mayor, vice mayor, and heads of departments, while complying with the social distancing level 1.5 quarantine guidelines. The meeting was an opportunity to share and discuss urgent tasks to be carried out this month.


Mayor Jeong Hyun-bok of Gwangyang emphasized, "Please widely promote the various achievements and excellent policies of our city administration this year to the citizens through diverse channels."


He also instructed to promptly proceed with the second half of this year's fiscal spending to revitalize the local economy, and to carefully check and prepare each urgent task to be carried out by the end of the year, such as preparing in advance so that important projects can be immediately implemented at the beginning of next year after the budget is approved by the council.


Finally, in preparation for the year-end and New Year period, the meeting was concluded with a request for public officials to take the lead in strictly adhering to quarantine rules and to implement focused quarantine measures to prevent the large-scale spread of sporadic group infections amid ongoing COVID-19 responses.
