Kang Min-seok, spokesperson for the Blue House, said on the 2nd, "President Moon nominated lawyer Lee Yong-gu as the Deputy Minister of Justice today. His term will begin on the 3rd."
The new Deputy Minister Lee Yong-gu is a former judge who served in the courts for over 20 years. In August 2017, he was appointed as the Ministerial Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, becoming the first non-prosecutor to hold the position, and served for 2 years and 8 months.
