[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) has selected the Best Friendly Public Officials of 2020.
The selected employees are ▲ Lee Young-joo from the Civil Affairs Passport Division ▲ Lee Se-ra from the Smart City Division ▲ Bae Seon-ja from the Housing Division ▲ Jang Hyun-gyu from the Parks and Greenery Division ▲ and Lee Gwi-soon, a public officer from Jang-an 2-dong, totaling five people.
Despite many difficulties in responding to civil complaints and carrying out projects due to COVID-19 this year, they demonstrated friendly and proactive work handling, earning recognition from both employees and residents for their efforts.
The public officer Bae Seon-ja from the Housing Division, who received the highest score in this evaluation, is in charge of public housing support projects and community revitalization projects. Officer Bae was recommended as a friendly employee by residents, who said, “Even when asking various questions, she was kind and had excellent knowledge about her work, which was very helpful in many ways.”
Additionally, Lee Young-joo, who moved residents visiting for visa extensions by sincerely explaining difficult and complex procedures and documents according to their level; and Lee Se-ra, who was praised for her sincere and proactive attitude and friendly, detailed guidance when responding to civil complaints?these employees selected as friendly public officials impressed residents and colleagues with their active response to civil complaints despite their busy workloads.
The district plans to award the selected Best Friendly Public Officials with the Mayor’s Commendation to comfort their efforts and boost morale.
Along with this, Dongdaemun-gu, adopting ‘Communication and Empathy with Residents’ as the foremost philosophy of district administration, operates various programs to cultivate employees’ friendly mindset, such as ▲ department-specific friendly mentors ▲ selective emotional friendliness training ▲ one-day healing lectures, receiving favorable reviews from employees for its diverse efforts to implement friendly administration.
Mayor You Deok-yeol of Dongdaemun-gu stated, “True friendliness begins with listening carefully to the small voices of residents and empathizing as if it were a family matter,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to provide friendly administrative services that approach residents first together with our employees.”
