Lotte Department Store Gwangju Opens 'Gwangju Kitchen' Showcasing Convenient Ready-to-Cook Foods in One Place

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch (Manager Na Yeon) has opened "Gwangju Kitchen," a store showcasing ready-to-cook food products all in one place, in its newly renovated food hall.

According to Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch on the 2nd, Gwangju Kitchen, opened on the basement first floor food hall, sells ready-to-cook meals using fresh ingredients from the southern region and popular menus from famous restaurants nationwide.

With the increase in single-person households and dual-income couples emphasizing convenience, and the growing preference for home-cooked meals due to the impact of COVID-19, a ready-to-cook food store of about 50 pyeong was newly incorporated in this renovation.

In particular, to promote regional coexistence, 50% of the brands in the ready-to-cook food store are local Gwangju brands, supporting the promotion and market expansion of local brands.

Representative local brands include "Bium Banchan," which operates seven directly managed stores in Gwangju and sells neatly packaged southern-style side dishes; "Haedamchon," a kimchi specialty store in Duam-dong, Buk-gu, using homemade salted seafood and local agricultural products; and "Gukbo966" from Damyang, a traditional handmade tofu restaurant with 50 years of history.

Additionally, various brands such as "Master Kitchen," which sells popular restaurant menus for easy home consumption; "Vegifood," a leading domestic vegan food brand; and "House Mamma," children's side dishes made directly by a mother nutritionist and father chef, are also introduced.

To celebrate the opening until the 6th, various discount events are being held, including selling Gwangju Yukjeon from "Bium Banchan" at 7,200 KRW (200g), seasoned cockles at 5,200 KRW (200g), aged kimchi from "Haedamchon" at 7,100 KRW (1kg), kimchi at 7,600 KRW (1kg), and traditional tofu from "Gukbo966" at 2,800 KRW (1 block).

Na Yeon, manager of Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch, said, "We organized the store so that customers can conveniently enjoy food made with southern ingredients and popular restaurant menus," adding, "We will provide the best service to make it a representative local food hall through Lotte Department Store's premium food hall, Food Avenue."

Meanwhile, along with the opening of Gwangju Kitchen, a wine gallery store also opened on the same day, showcasing a variety of global and premium wines.
