[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Fine Digital announced on the 2nd that it will officially launch the country’s first 5x storage room mirror black box, the ‘FineVu R2,’ which combines a black box and room mirror functions.
The FineVu R2 is a front and rear full HD quality room mirror black box that replaces the vehicle’s original room mirror. In addition to the black box’s primary function of recording and storing driving footage, it focuses on securing a safe rear view to assist safe driving.
It is an optimized product for SUV vehicles or novice drivers who have difficulty securing rear visibility due to luggage or passengers in the back seat. Designed to enable safe driving by minimizing rear blind spots with a wider field of view than a regular room mirror.
It also comes equipped with numerous additional features to assist safe driving. The LCD screen brightness auto-adjustment function minimizes screen glare, reducing the sense of discomfort compared to the original room mirror. Additionally, it applies automatic night vision that records in optimal quality according to changes in lighting conditions, delivering clarity regardless of the time of day. Furthermore, it is equipped with a Sony STARVIS sensor that boasts brighter and clearer performance at night. Rear HDR is applied to clearly capture the license plates of vehicles behind in any situation.
Moreover, the FineVu R2 has dramatically increased the storage capacity for driving footage. The newly introduced Format Free 2.0 function maximizes the lifespan and stability of the memory card. When recording in smart time-lapse mode, which stores driving footage without quality loss through efficient compression, it can save footage five times longer than in standard mode. In the event of an impact, the footage is saved in both the ‘Normal’ folder and the ‘Event’ folder to prevent recording omissions, the company explained.
According to Fine Digital, the FineVu R2 also enhances driver convenience with AI Impact Notification 1.0 and Safe Driving Assistant 2.0 functions. The AI Impact Notification 1.0 analyzes all impacts on the vehicle using artificial intelligence (AI) machine learning techniques and excludes unnecessary impacts presumed to be non-accident situations from the notification targets. The Safe Driving Assistant 2.0 provides guidance not only on the latest speed enforcement camera information but also on side roads in child protection zones.
A Fine Digital official said, “The newly introduced FineVu R2 is a product for the increasing number of SUV owners.” He added, “It provides an optimal driving environment not only for drivers who carry a lot of luggage in the back seat but also for those who want to receive help for safe driving through a wide rear view.”
