[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] CJ ENM, a leading company in cultural content and home shopping, has been selected as the 23rd 'Caring Company' by promising a significant expansion of support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners through its content and home shopping channels.
The term 'Caring Company' refers to voluntary win-win cooperation companies that go beyond traditional partnerships focused on suppliers, sharing the strengths such as capabilities and know-how possessed by large corporations with non-partner companies and small business owners.
On the 2nd, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it signed a business agreement with CJ ENM and the Foundation for Large, Medium, and Small Enterprises and Agriculture-Fishery Cooperation to support market development for SMEs and small business owners.
This agreement was realized as the 23rd in the 'Caring Company' series promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to realize the value of coexistence and win-win cooperation. It reflects CJ ENM's determination to actively utilize various resources such as CJ O Shopping, DIA TV, tvN, and KCON to support domestic and international market expansion for our SMEs and small business owners.
The main contents of the business agreement with CJ ENM as a Caring Company include ▲supporting digital marketing for SMEs and small business owners through 'Caring Content,' ▲expanding the regions hosting KCON and strengthening related convention promotions, and ▲supporting domestic market channels by linking CJ O Shopping's marketing capabilities and home shopping channels.
Heo Min-hoe, CEO of CJ ENM, said, "CJ ENM has supported the overseas expansion of over 600 SMEs and startups through the global Korean Wave event KCON," adding, "We plan to further expand marketing support for products of SMEs and small business owners through live commerce linked with O Shopping and DIA TV creators."
Kim Soon-chul, Secretary General of the Foundation for Large, Medium, and Small Enterprises Cooperation, said, "Support for domestic and international market channels using CJ ENM's infrastructure such as Korean Wave events and home shopping is expected to be a great help to small business owners and SMEs struggling due to COVID-19."
Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, said, "Content marketing has been a field where SMEs and small business owners have requested a lot of support," adding, "The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will also strengthen support for market development so that the technologies and products of our SMEs can overcome the COVID crisis and be recognized domestically and internationally."
