[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Singer BoA, who debuted at the age of 13 in August 2000, has celebrated her 20th anniversary since debut.
At the online press conference held on the 1st to announce her 10th full-length album and mark her 20th anniversary, BoA shared, "The phrase '20th anniversary' sounds grand, so it doesn't quite feel real."
Reflecting on her past 20 years, BoA described herself as "a diligent and hardworking singer."
BoA said, "When younger dancers who are a generation younger joined, I thought, 'I've been doing this for a long time,' but I still feel that 'there's a long way to go and I am still lacking.' Only now do I think that rather than just working hard vaguely on stage, controlling the intensity well is necessary to show a good performance."
BoA debuted in August 2000 under SM Entertainment with the song 'ID: peace B.' She swept various rookie awards in 2000 and, just two years after her debut, won the Grand Prize at the 'SBS Gayo Daejeon' as the youngest artist with her second album 'NO.1' in 2002.
Regarding Lee Soo-man, the chairman of SM Entertainment who cast her, BoA said, "I am grateful that he is by my side as a supporter. I hope we can always communicate about music like this while working together."
BoA also commented on the recent overseas success of groups like BLACKPINK and BTS, saying, "The activities of juniors these days are in areas I could never have imagined. I think they are cool and amazing. Thankfully, I feel like I am benefiting from it."

BoA continued, "K-pop is no longer limited to our country but has become global. I also think I need to take responsibility for my works and music videos and strive to produce them with good quality. The number of people watching has changed. I deeply contemplate how to create good music."
She also confessed her future goal, saying, "I want to celebrate my 30th anniversary."
BoA said, "After watching Na Hoon-a's performance, I reflected on myself. Twenty years is still like a baby. Since I am a performing singer, I will take good care of my body to show great performances."
She added, "I haven't set a specific goal, but I think I need to work hard to reach my 30th anniversary. I always wonder, 'Will I be able to dance next year?' Using my body for 20 years has caused many aches here and there. I realize I need to exercise for maintenance. I will manage myself well to continue showing good stages."
On this day, BoA released her 10th full-length album, 'Better,' which includes a total of 11 tracks, including the title track 'Better.'
She explained, "When making the title track, I had heated discussions with Director Yoo (Yoo Young-jin) and Chairman Lee Soo-man. Chairman Lee and I have a Tom and Jerry kind of relationship. I am grateful that the three of us gathered and worked together enthusiastically, and this album carries a lot of meaning."
