Acquaintances Question "Was It Worth It?"
YouTube Video Views Reach Only 8,000 in Two Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A YouTuber in the United States jumped from a 60m-high bridge into a river and suffered a skull fracture.
On the 29th (local time), British daily Daily Mail and others reported that YouTuber Sa Pomba recently released a 17-minute video showing him jumping into the river from the Pennybacker Bridge over the Colorado River in Texas, USA.
In the video, Pomba says inside a car heading to the bridge, "I don't find joy in an ordinary life."
Then, Pomba climbs the massive arch of the Pennybacker Bridge.
The height of the Pennybacker Bridge is 30m from the roadway to the water surface, and the height from the water surface to the top of the arch is much higher.
The filming was done by his friends.
After reaching the top of the arch, Pomba waved his arms, counted to three, shouted, and jumped into the river.
He jumped facing downward from the bridge, but lost balance and flipped, falling headfirst toward the ground.
He waved to a passing boat to request rescue and barely survived.
Shortly after, paramedics transported him to the hospital, appearing exhausted.
Later, through the video, he said, "My skull was fractured and I lost some blood, so I was treated in the hospital for three days," adding, "People are texting me asking if it was worth it."
The subtitles in the video read, "I am a person chasing dreams, and I will leave my mark on this planet we call Earth."
After the video was uploaded, it received only 8,000 views over two days.
