[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Kia Motors announced on the 1st that it sold 256,019 units in the global market in November this year, a 2.0% increase compared to the previous year, recording simultaneous growth in both domestic and overseas markets.
This figure consists of 50,523 units domestically and 205,496 units overseas, representing increases of 3.9% and 1.6%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
By model, the Sportage was the best-selling vehicle in the global market with 35,930 units sold, followed by the Seltos with 31,861 units and the K3 (Forte) with 22,804 units.
The best-selling vehicle in the domestic market was the Carnival (9,823 units), marking the top monthly sales for Kia for two consecutive months. Passenger models sold a total of 19,272 units, including 7,343 units of the K5, 3,253 units of the K7, and 3,032 units of the Morning.
RV models, including the Carnival, sold a total of 26,046 units, with the Sorento at 7,009 units and the Seltos at 3,547 units. Commercial models sold a total of 5,205 units, including 5,053 units of the Bongo III, combining buses and trucks.
In the overseas market, the Sportage became the best-selling model with 34,272 units sold, followed by the Seltos with 28,314 units and the K3 (Forte) with 20,857 units.
A Kia Motors official stated, "Although management uncertainty has increased due to the worsening COVID-19 situation, we are minimizing negative impacts through proactive risk management," adding, "Next year, we will overcome difficulties by leading with competitive new vehicles, including electric vehicles based on a dedicated electric vehicle platform."
