[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 1st that it sold a total of 376,704 vehicles worldwide in November this year, including 70,035 units domestically and 306,669 units overseas. Compared to the same period last year, domestic sales increased by 10.9%, while overseas sales decreased by 7.2%.
In the domestic market, the sedan Grandeur led sales with 11,648 units sold. Following were sedans such as Avante with 7,477 units and Sonata with 5,038 units, totaling 24,804 sedans sold. Recreational Vehicles (RVs) sold 22,124 units, including Tucson with 7,490 units, Palisade with 5,706 units, and Santa Fe with 5,157 units.
The premium brand Genesis led sales with 5,019 units of the G80 sold, followed by 3,258 units of the GV80, 925 units of the G90, and 350 units of the G70, totaling 9,567 units sold.
On the other hand, overseas markets recorded a decline compared to the same month last year. This decrease was due to reduced production at overseas factories caused by demand contraction from the COVID-19 pandemic.
A Hyundai Motor official stated, "To overcome the crisis caused by the COVID-19 situation, we are preparing countermeasures for each region and making efforts to minimize negative impacts, continuing proactive risk management efforts."
