[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) announced on the 1st that it was selected as a community contribution recognized company for two consecutive years at the 2020 Community Contribution Recognition Day event.
The Community Contribution Recognition System is a policy implemented by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Social Welfare Association since July 2019. It recognizes and encourages the social contribution activities of companies and institutions that have contributed to solving community problems in cooperation with local non-profit organizations.
GKL was recognized for various community-tailored social contribution activities, including ▲supporting meal expenses and improving reading environments at community child centers in Seoul and Busan ▲providing briquettes to energy-poor households in Seoul and Busan ▲supporting the installation of firefighting equipment for fire-vulnerable groups in Seoul and Busan ▲creating cooling shelters in the Namdaemun jjokbang counseling center and jjokbang villages ▲establishing the 'Hocheon Cultural Platform' to revitalize tourism in Hocheon Village, Busanjin-gu.
Along with the GKL Social Contribution Foundation, a public institution, GKL also received positive evaluations for ▲providing agricultural, mountain, and fishing village experience tourism opportunities for tourism-disadvantaged groups ▲and healing trips for new military nurse officers volunteering for COVID-19 medical service.
