[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] On the 1st, the People Power Party stated that the conclusion by the Ministry of Justice Inspection Committee that the suspension and disciplinary request against Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol was unjust is "a decision in line with common sense and justice."

Kim Eun-hye, spokesperson for the People Power Party, said in a verbal comment that day, "Ironically, the Ministry of Justice Inspection Committee stopped the runaway train of 폭추(暴추미애) that was heading toward the cliff."

The Ministry of Justice Inspection Committee held an extraordinary meeting that day and unanimously resolved that the Ministry of Justice's disciplinary request, suspension of duty, and investigation request against Prosecutor General Yoon were all inappropriate.

Spokesperson Kim added, "Although this is an extremely natural judgment based on procedural logic and reason, the fact that a normal decision-making process feels so dramatic and welcome is a tragedy for the country."

He said, "However, even with D-Day (the 2nd, the Prosecutor Disciplinary Committee) approaching, the president's will to somehow oust Prosecutor General Yoon seems unwavering," and criticized, "The country is being reverted to a royal dynasty era where the rule of law is replaced by the rule of the king, and purging of one's faction is done without hesitation." He also said, "We expect the Administrative Court to join in restoring the rule of law and democracy in the Republic of Korea," and emphasized, "The People Power Party will continue to achieve this obvious victory of common sense together with the people."

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice plans to hold the Prosecutor Disciplinary Committee on the 2nd to decide on the disciplinary action and its severity against Prosecutor General Yoon. The Inspection Committee's decision is a recommendation and does not directly affect the disciplinary review. The Ministry of Justice responded to the Inspection Committee's decision by stating it was an "inspection conducted according to lawful procedures" and said, "We will fully consider the recommendations of the Inspection Committee."
