[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 1st, the People’s Party stated regarding the Ministry of Justice Inspection Committee’s unanimous conclusion that there were procedural defects in the disciplinary request, suspension of duty, and investigation referral process against Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, making it unjust, “Now that procedural legitimacy has also been lost, the disciplinary committee scheduled to be held tomorrow should naturally be canceled.”

Hong Kyung-hee, Senior Deputy Spokesperson of the People’s Party, said in a commentary on the same day, “If Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae again argues that the Inspection Committee’s conclusion is merely a recommendation without legal binding force, it can only be seen as a final desperate act to witness her own miserable end.”

Senior Deputy Spokesperson Hong pointed out, “The unreasonable disciplinary action taken by Minister Choo against the Prosecutor General, who originally had no serious misconduct allegations, is nothing but a foolish act trying to cover the sky with one’s palm.”

Senior Deputy Spokesperson Hong added, “Minister Choo should regain her senses and look around. After running hard while saying ‘follow me,’ she will find herself standing alone in a wasteland when she looks back,” and said, “It is time to stop a fight that has neither practical benefit nor justification.”
