Model Drivers Seodaemun-gu Branch Provides Free Transportation Support to Local Corporate Taxi Companies and Others
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) is implementing a comprehensive traffic plan on the College Scholastic Ability Test day, the 3rd of this month, to ensure that examinees can safely arrive at the test sites.
To expand public transportation capacity on the test day, city buses and village buses will be concentratedly dispatched from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., the school commuting hours.
Additionally, the Seodaemun-gu branch of the Model Drivers Association will provide 12 vehicles, and six local corporate taxi companies will support 28 vehicles as free transportation for examinees. Volunteers will wait at major points such as subway stations and intersections to assist latecomers and manage traffic in congested areas.
Fifty-six employees from 12 teams composed of district office and community center staff will guide examinees on picking up empty vehicles, giving priority rides, and sharing rides in key areas.
Financial institutions, companies with more than 50 employees, and public institutions will delay their start time to 10 a.m. on this day, and the personal taxi restriction will be lifted from 4 a.m. to noon.
This year, the College Scholastic Ability Test in Seodaemun-gu will be held at six locations including Gajaeul High School, with 2,963 examinees, a decrease of 364 compared to last year.
For examinees under quarantine, a total of 18 classrooms, three per each of the six test sites, have been prepared.
Mayor Moon Seok-jin of Seodaemun-gu said, “We ask for citizens’ cooperation, such as refraining from driving private cars, so that examinees can conveniently and safely arrive at the test sites.”
