Daegu City, 'Proud Daegu-ssi' Emoticon Gift Event... First 50,000 Participants

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City announced on the 1st that it will produce 'Proud Daegu-ssi' emoticons themed 'Mask WearGO Movement' and distribute them free of charge to the first 50,000 people via KakaoTalk from 2 PM on the 3rd.

The newly introduced 'Proud Daegu-ssi' character by Daegu City consists of 16 types that express respect and pride for citizens who overcame the COVID-19 crisis with great civic awareness. Rather than delivering messages directly, Daegu City explained that the emoticons increase usability by expressing everyday situations in a fun and friendly way.

Those interested can search for 'Daegu City Hall' in the KakaoTalk friend search menu and add the channel as a new friend to download it free of charge for the first 50,000 people. The usage period is 90 days.

Kwon Ki-dong, Daegu City Public Relations Brand Manager, said, "These emoticons were designed so that people can naturally recognize the necessity of the 'mask-wearing movement' while communicating with close acquaintances and family through messengers," adding, "We hope the power of Daegu citizens, who always overcame adversity with united strength in times of crisis, will shine again."
