[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Park Chang-won] The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Autonomous Police Unit announced on the 1st that it will implement special traffic management from 6 a.m. on the 3rd, when the 2021 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) will be held.
The Autonomous Police Unit plans to deploy 80 autonomous traffic police officers, 451 exemplary drivers (381 in Jeju City, 70 in Seogwipo City), and 42 autonomous police community service members around 14 test sites and adjacent intersections across the province on the day of the exam.
Through this, they aim to prevent traffic congestion caused by illegal parking and stopping around the test sites in advance, ensuring that examinees can take the exam safely and smoothly.
Additionally, the Autonomous Police Unit’s police motorcycles (10 units) and the Exemplary Drivers Association (114 vehicles) will jointly designate seven locations in Jeju City and seven in Seogwipo City as pick-up points for empty vehicles to provide convenient transportation for examinees.
Along with this, a temporary CSAT traffic control center will be operated to promptly respond to traffic situations around the test sites and manage traffic with a focus on communication, supporting examinees to take the exam comfortably.
The Autonomous Police Unit’s Child and Youth Division will collaborate with the Jeju Provincial Office of Education, the True Love Practice Parents’ Association, and the School Operation Committee Chairpersons’ Council, among other civic groups, to conduct youth guidance activities before and after the CSAT day to prevent juvenile delinquency.
