Jeonbuk Bank Launches Street Campaign for Jeonju City Local Currency 'Jeonju Sarang Gift Certificate'

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] JB Financial Group Jeonbuk Bank announced on the 1st that it conducted a street campaign on the 27th of last month, before the implementation of social distancing level 2, at six locations in Jeonju to promote the Jeonju local currency ‘Jeonju Sarang Gift Certificate’.

This campaign was organized as a regional bank responsible for issuing Jeonju’s local currency ‘Jeonju Sarang Gift Certificate’ to prevent capital outflow from Jeonju and to revitalize small business owners and traditional markets. It was also intended to actively respond to the local currency and to strengthen bonds with local residents.

About 90 Jeonbuk Bank employees and Jeonju city supporters wore sashes and used banners and placards to carry out the campaign for about 30 minutes at six major intersections in Jeonju (Comprehensive Stadium Intersection, Innovation City Intersection, Angol Intersection, KT Intersection, Pungnyeon Bakery Intersection, Chamber of Commerce Intersection), while complying with social distancing and COVID-19 prevention guidelines.

Lee Mong-ho, Vice President of Jeonbuk Bank, said, “As a regional bank, we hope to contribute to the activation of Jeonju’s local currency ‘Jeonju Sarang Gift Certificate’ promoted by Jeonju city, and we will continue to strive to become Jeonbuk Bank that creates a warmer world through finance together with the local community.”

Meanwhile, the monthly purchase limit for Jeonju’s local currency ‘Jeonju Sarang Gift Certificate’ is up to 500,000 KRW, with a cashback of up to 10% of the amount used. For December only, the recharge limit has been doubled to 1,000,000 KRW, increasing the cashback benefit up to 100,000 KRW per person. The ‘Jeonju Sarang Gift Certificate,’ issued in electronic card form, can be applied for by installing the ‘Jeonju Sarang Gift Certificate’ app or by visiting a nearby Jeonbuk Bank branch (immediate issuance available).
