'Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign' Begins 62-Day Journey... Gwangju Targets 4.21 Billion Won

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The 'Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign' has embarked on a 62-day journey starting from the 1st until January 31 of next year.

The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Han Sangwon · Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on the 1st at Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall that it held the launch ceremony of the 'Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign' and officially started the campaign.

The campaign's target amount is 4.21 billion won. Each time 1% of the target amount is raised, the mercury level rises by 1 degree, and when the target amount is achieved, the Love Happiness Thermometer will reach 100 degrees.

Attending the launch ceremony were Han Sangwon, Chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea; Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City; Kim Yongjip, Chairman of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council; and Jang Huiguk, Superintendent of Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education. Donor companies including Samsung Electronics Gwangju Social Contribution Center, Kia Motors Corporation Gwangju Plant, Hite Jinro Co., Ltd., NongHyup Central Association Gwangju Regional Headquarters, and Green Aloe Co., Ltd. participated in the first donation ceremony.

On the day, activities such as delivering hope messages, the first donation ceremony for campaign funds, and commemorative photo sessions with slogan panels were held. Due to the severe situation caused by COVID-19, the event avoided gatherings and reduced event costs, proceeding as the smallest-scale launch ceremony in history.

Han Sangwon, Chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, said, "I hope that the Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign will become a beautiful festival full of hope by gathering small sincere contributions from many people," and added, "Although there have been many difficulties such as COVID-19 and flood damage, we ask for active participation so that we can make our Gwangju a warmer and more hopeful place."

During the campaign period, participation is possible through ▲ donations via KBS, MBC, and KBC broadcasters ▲ donation delivery through Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall and social welfare departments of five district offices ▲ donation delivery through community service centers and local community security councils ▲ joining the Honor Society (individual high-value donor club) ▲ joining Good Stores and Good Workplaces for regular donations by office workers ▲ ARS phone donations (060-700-1213 · 3,000 won per call) ▲ designated donations and goods donations.

Also, sharing can be participated in through online fundraising on the Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae website, and donation consultations can be made by contacting the fundraising business team at the Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae Secretariat.
