Cluster Infection at Busan Sasang-gu Church... 18 Worshippers and Visitors Confirmed Positive On the 1st, citizens who were notified as testing targets are waiting to get tested for COVID-19 in front of the Buk-gu Public Health Center in Busan.

On that day at 11 a.m., as 46 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Busan, 18 people who had contact at the Sasang-gu church tested positive.


However, the Sasang-gu Public Health Center has suspended all operations except for the screening clinic as one administrative department employee was classified as a close contact of a COVID-19 confirmed case and is awaiting test results.


According to Busan health authorities on the 1st, 28 people who had contact with Busan case number 786 tested positive for COVID-19. Among them, 18 were confirmed to have been infected through contact at the same church.


Busan city health authorities conducted a full investigation last weekend targeting the church’s congregants and visitors.


Busan case number 786 was confirmed positive on the 29th as a contact of a confirmed case in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.


Although more than 20 confirmed cases emerged in Sasang-gu alone, the Sasang-gu Public Health Center’s operations have been suspended, causing significant inconvenience.


One employee from the health administration department of this public health center was classified as a contact of a confirmed case and is awaiting test results.


Sasang-gu excluded all employees who had contact with this employee from work and temporarily suspended the public health center’s operations. The screening clinic at the Sasang-gu Public Health Center is currently operating normally.
