[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] The Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas reopened on the 1st after an 11-month renovation. Following the renovation of the first-floor lobby, restaurants, and the grand ballroom in 2014, the hotel has now completed renovations of its exterior and all guest rooms from the 7th to the 33rd floors. Additionally, the InterContinental Club Lounge, previously located on the 26th floor, has been relocated to the top floor, the 34th, enhancing club services.
The overall hotel interior was designed by the British interior design group ‘1508 London,’ which has worked on numerous luxury hotels such as Four Seasons in Europe and affluent Middle Eastern regions. The design keywords are ‘natural assimilation,’ ‘balance,’ and ‘refinement,’ expressing these concepts through Korea’s unique lines and warm color tones.
Through this renovation, all guest rooms at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas now feature panoramic windows, expanding guests’ views from the rooms by more than 50% compared to before. The hotel exterior has been transformed into a full glass type, replacing existing panels with glass and reinforcing insulation bars, thereby improving energy performance as well.
The renewed Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas welcomes guests with a total of 16 room types and 550 rooms. The accommodations are categorized into three levels: Deluxe, Junior Suite, and Top Suite. Notably, 226 spacious suites of 60㎡ (over 18 pyeong) are available, providing a satisfying stay environment for both leisure travelers and long-term business guests. Additionally, to cater to the recently increasing leisure and family guests, 20 new rooms have been prepared with bed configurations suitable for 3 to 4 guests (using Deluxe rooms and Junior Suites).
All rooms are equipped with the hotel’s exclusive Beautyrest mattresses developed in collaboration with Simmons and Parnas Hotel, and bedding uses 100-count cotton linen and Polish goose down. Amenities in the rooms include the eco-friendly spa brand Agraria, used worldwide at InterContinental hotels; guests staying on club floors and above receive products from the British luxury beauty brand Jo Malone; and those in corner suites and above are provided with products from the French high-end luxury brand Herm?s.
Every room features a 55-inch or larger LED UHD smart TV, allowing guests to conveniently enjoy OTT services on a large screen. All rooms from InterContinental Suites and above are equipped with garment care machines, enabling guests to safely sterilize and deodorize their clothing and belongings.
The top-tier Presidential Suite on the 32nd floor is fully prepared for VIP guests. It boasts an impressive size of 303㎡ (approximately 92 pyeong) and a high ceiling of 4 meters spanning two integrated floors. The layout integrates the front and rear of the hotel, allowing guests to enjoy views of both Teheran-ro and Bongeunsa Temple.
A dedicated treatment room is separately arranged within the suite, where guests can enjoy a Technogym treadmill and a Finnish-style dry sauna right inside the room. The suite includes a living room with a 77-inch OLED UHD gallery-type TV, a delicately designed study, a built-in wine cellar and refrigerator, and a dining area with an 8-person table, making it suitable for VIP social events, luxury brand launches, and various other uses.
The ‘Club InterContinental,’ an exclusive space for club floor guests, has moved from the 26th floor to the hotel’s top floor, the 34th, offering panoramic views of Gangnam and providing refined services. A newly introduced live kitchen in the lounge allows for instant preparation of menus tailored to guests’ preferences.
Breakfast is served as made-to-order ? la carte dishes reflecting customer preferences, and guests can also enjoy ‘in-room dining’ at no additional cost if they wish. The afternoon tea service provided to Club InterContinental guests features tea sets from Royal Copenhagen, used by the Danish royal family, and tea menus from Dammann Fr?res, a French luxury tea brand with 320 years of tradition.
The modern Chinese restaurant ‘Weilu’ on the 34th floor, which has won the World Luxury Restaurant Awards for three consecutive years, will welcome guests starting in December. The first-floor buffet restaurant ‘Grand Kitchen’ and the authentic Japanese restaurant ‘Hakone’ are also ready to greet new room guests.
To commemorate the reopening of the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, various prize events will be held throughout December. All guests staying in rooms during December will receive entry tickets for a raffle offering room stay vouchers, buffet vouchers, hotel signature calendars, and more. On the hotel’s Instagram, guests who take photos inside their rooms and upload them with hashtags will be eligible for special gifts through a draw at the end of December.
Additionally, during December, all customers visiting the hotel’s restaurants will be eligible for the ‘True Luxury & True Gourmet Lucky Draw Event.’ This event will be conducted as a relay draw every week for five weeks, offering prizes such as dinner tour vouchers to experience all the hotel’s signature restaurants, private dinner courses for four at the Chinese restaurant Weilu with wine pairing, and more. Anyone who uses the hotel’s restaurants or bars can participate.
Brian Harris, General Manager of the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, stated, “As a hotel redefining luxury lifestyles for customers in the new normal era, we will continue to provide the best service without compromise and further solidify our reputation as the flagship hotel in East Asia with over 30 years of history among InterContinental hotels worldwide.”
