Gangdong-gu, Recruiting Participants for Disability Employment Program

District to recruit a total of 98 people from November 30 to December 9 for administrative assistants, disabled parking zone promoters, and cafe baristas

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) is recruiting participants for the ‘2021 Disabled Employment Project’ until the 9th to provide jobs for unemployed persons with disabilities and support their self-reliance.

The recruitment targets unemployed persons with disabilities aged 18 or older residing in Seoul, selecting a total of 98 people: 39 for full-time general jobs, 17 for part-time, and 42 for welfare jobs (participatory type).

Participants in the ‘2021 Disabled Employment Project’ will be finally selected after a first round of document screening and a second round of interviews to assess job performance ability, and will work for one year from January to December next year.

Participants will be assigned to community service centers, welfare centers for the disabled, and vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled, performing tasks such as △assisting welfare administration △promoting disabled parking zones △library assistant work △cafe barista duties. However, those who are enrolled in workplace health insurance (excluding dependents), have a business registration certificate, are participating in other government or local government financial support job projects, or have participated in the disabled employment project for two or more consecutive years are excluded.

Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, stated, “We hope this project will help persons with disabilities who are facing greater difficulties in employment due to COVID-19 with their livelihood stability and social participation activities.”
