Recruitment of Resident Companies at Songpa ICT Youth Startup Support Center

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is recruiting new entrepreneurs and companies to move into the ‘Songpa ICT Youth Startup Support Center,’ a cradle for youth startups, until the 7th.

Any company or prospective entrepreneur under the age of 39 with ideas in fields utilizing ICT and other technical patents such as broadcasting, information and communication, radio waves, and software can apply.

If selected as a resident company, they can use the facilities by paying only a management fee of about 30,000 to 50,000 KRW per month per person for a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 2 years. Facilities include private offices, open office spaces, meeting rooms, and conference rooms.

In particular, the district selected the Seoul Center for Creative Economy and Innovation Foundation as the new operating trustee in September and provides various programs to resident companies.

They offer differentiated programs for startup success such as problem-solving mentoring, marketing and news material distribution for resident companies, investment linkage with partner investors, Amazon Web Services (AWS) credits, and preferential payment processing fees with KG Inicis.

Youth entrepreneurs wishing to move in can refer to the Songpa ICT Youth Startup Support Center website or contact the center office by phone.

The district has been operating the ‘Songpa ICT Youth Startup Support Center (11th floor, West Building, 135 Jungdae-ro)’ since December 2018 to support youth seeking breakthroughs through startups.

Located near Police Hospital Station on Subway Line 3, it offers not only good accessibility but also affordable open offices, conference rooms, and rest areas.

Additionally, the same building houses related facilities such as the Korea Communications Agency, the Eastern Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, providing convenience.

Over the past two years, 34 companies have moved into the ‘Songpa ICT Youth Startup Support Center,’ achieving sales of about 4 billion KRW, creating approximately 280 jobs, and registering about 70 patents and utility models.

Mayor Park Seong-su said, “The Songpa ICT Youth Startup Center has become a strong supporter for young people continuing their challenges during difficult times,” adding, “We will further strengthen support for youth startups to create more startup synergy effects in conjunction with the Munjeong Biz Valley and the currently underway Songpa ICT Security Cluster.”
